So the past couple of weeks have been amazing.

The Mama Stones Acapella Choir played twice this weekend at the Exeter Food and Drink festival. We played on the Mama Stones Stage ( Mama Stones being Joss Stone’s mum’s music venue etc etc here’s a link to their website MAMA STONES ). Two of our choir members were missing for this performance though….obviously because they are far to busy being famous now!! lol.

Thought I ought to mention on my blog just how excited I am for Adam Isaac and Hannah Berney who are both from Mama Stones and in the Acapella Choir….and are both in the top 40 contestants on the BBC’s The Voice!!!!!!!!!!!

Other than the choir and generally having a lovely time I’ve also had some other bits of interesting work come my way.

Benjamin Borley has been working his magic again with his camera. After he was lovely enough to include my face in his 8 1/2 Women exhibition, I couldn’t possibly turn down the opportunity to work with him again!! Here is one of the latest of his (featuring me, me, me and….well, me again)

Alongside posing in a subdued manner I’ve also been writing A LOT!! It’s been a joy to make some space in my schedule to write more.

I’m very excited about my New Music Choir and my 2 Super Star Kids Choirs which both start at the end of April at the Exeter Phoenix so I’ve been arranging pop songs to suit the choirs.

Session work has been varied, had Jingles coming out my ears a week or so a go!

And finally, I’m the featured artist on the Resource Sound Website…. RESOURCE SOUND

Until next time…… :)

Well they say time flies when you’re having fun!

I’ve been super busy organising and marketing my new new choirs which start in April.

The New Music Choir is an adult pop choir for ages 16yrs and over. Fresh arrangements, vocal techniques, introduction to beat-boxing, confidence building and above anything else…fun! Here is the poster…

The Super Star Kids Choir is a fantastic new children’s pop choir. Creative choir arrangements and vocal improvement sessions for ages 6 – 10yrs and 11-15yrs. I CANNOT wait to start these choirs!! Here is the flyer for the Super Star Kid Choir…

Apart from the choirs I have been having fun writing with Simon Greenwood of Sound Canvas Studios. We’ve been collaborating on a number of songs. He’s great to work with and I always enjoy every minute!

I’m also lucky enough to have been picked as a model for Benjamin Borley’s exhibition which runs from April 3rd – April 30th at the Exeter Picturehouse.

Well what a Christmas and New Year and what? It’s February 1st today?? How did that happen??!!

The last couple of months have been really interesting. I’ve been working with producers from Russia, New Zealand and Sweden. Songwriting with such diverse producers has been exciting. I have always loved every genre of music and I’m really pleased to be given the chance to work with some of the best writers in those genres. What a pleasure…and the feedback from Audio Freaks (music production company London) and … well… Russia, has been awesome. Insert smiley face. lol.

I was asked to compose a song for a lady in Australia who wanted something for her wedding. All finished in January and she was over the moon with the final song – Back To Life.

I’ve also been keeping up the good work with e+N Music Production. We are currently working on a complicated green screen/after effects music video. There is something new to learn with every scene, we always like to push the boundaries of what we can do. I’m looking forward to filming the final video later this month.

I had a couple of spare moments to do some work with my favourite photographer Benjamin Borley. He took these beautiful shots recently for his portfolio of super gorgeous Nick Watson and I…the next posh and becks?!!…ha

I’ve started working with Sound Logic who provide jingles for companies and radio in the midlands. This is varied and…to be honest….fun! I won’t link their website just yet as they’re currently updating it.

Devastation Bluebell and collab week…

The last few weeks have been full of interesting and diverse work for me.

I’ve been working with a Music Production and Composition company called Devastation Bluebell – check out there website, gotta love WordPress!! I’ve been asked to add vocals to some of their Pop library tracks, loved it!

I am also working with a company called RESOURCE SOUND who provide a library of samples from various instruments including vocals which composers can purchase. They also offer bespoke packages to composers and producers who are looking for a certain vocal or instrument for their track. A very useful service for any up and coming composer who hasn’t got a vocalist to hand!

In complete contrast to all of this I wrote lyrics to a very Christmas song entitled ‘At Last It’s Christmas’ and duet for a father and daughter in a short film. I thoroughly enjoyed writing this and it’s properly got me in the Christmas mood!

For collab week I’ve been working with a couple of the AudioFreaks guys, co-writing, lyric writing and session singing for them. There is some amazing talent in the AudioFreaks Camp, over the moon to be a part of it.

I also got back the final images from my photoshoot with Benjamin Borley and The Costume Box to advertise Hand Made Fairy Wings on the Costume Box website and in shop posters. This is the shot Bee (The Costume Box – Owner) choose for the campaign.

In other news…I’ve got a new microphone in my studio! Sounds fantastic!

Off to the studio now…. :)

Last week I was asked by The Costume Box and Benjamin Borley to model bespoke costumes for their websites. Bee Watson, owner of The Costume Box, designed and made two beautiful woodland inspired costumes. The textures and shapes were glorious and the designs were spectacular. Please have a look through the photos below to see the results of the shoot…my favourite’s.

Session singing and songwriting has been ongoing and diverse….

I’ve been working with a Dubstep producer from London, singing on his up and coming album.

I’ve been asked to work with a company in Leeds as part of a library of bespoke session vocals. I’m looking forward to starting on the samples!

Chillies Records from Russia have asked me to sing on a few of their next releases. The first will be a track called ‘Secrets’…I’ll keep you all posted on my progress :)

Continuing my songwriting with e+N Music Production. ‘Superstar Kid’ is sounding great!!

Well the passed couple of weeks have been very chilled out indeed. I did have the pleasure of working with SniffyDog a composer/producer duo who work for loads of high profile clients within the commercial industry. I was set with the task of writing the topline and singing for a faux Florence and the Machine type track for a website promo commercial for Freesat – Free Sky basically. This went splendidly and I really enjoyed working with the guys in London. Here is the Vimeo link for the edit with my vocal.

The last week or so has been filled mostly writing.

My partner in crime, Nick James Gordon, has been in Barcelona so I have taken the opportunity to work with some other producers to keep my creative juices flowing. I think its important to constantly re-invent how you work, to improve and to develop your skills. By working with other composers/producers this will improve my songwriting and expand my musical genres.

I have started working with a local producer/composer Simon Greenwell to write with. He is also my second tier recording studio for my online recording facility. Simon writes by feel using a keyboard. This immediately reminded me of how I used to write…just my ear, a guitar or a piano, no recording studio to hand…it was just how the music made you feel. It’s been a pleasure writing with Simon, he works at my speed (warp speed) and we soon started to understand each other. One track already written..a poptastic contemporary girl band/female artist tune. I’m looking forward to making some more music with Simon in the future.

You can check out some of Simon’s work on his website SOUNDCANVAS.CO.UK

I have also been ‘hooked up’ with a great Power Pop writer from New Zealand named Craig McKenzie. I’m am currently writing the topline and lyrics for a collaborative track with him, pulling out all the stops for this one!

In other news…

I have been doing a little modelling here and there to fill my time. Here are a couple of the shots from the last week.

And one for me…

Thanks to Benjamin Borley :)

…Oh and I’ve blown up the studio at home…marvellous!

This week has been very interesting indeed. I’ve had to opportunity to be part of two quite diverse film productions.

The first is…

Directed and filmed by David Salas, film stills by Benjamin Borley. Nick James Gordon (my co-writer) also came along to help with the sound, which was lovely!

The film is the first of potentially 10 shorts…looking forward to the next one!

In between filming this week I’ve been writing at home in my studio….trying out my new writing without music technique! Seems to be going well. I also meet up with another producer this week who will be working with me on various projects in the future.

The second part I had to play this week was a little more challenging. Unfortunately for me I was strangled…and died! It was great experience and I’m thankful to have been asked to be part of an interesting series of films based around a timetraveller. The series is called Dark Destiny. Thanks to Alex White the director for inviting me to join in the fun!

Here are some stills from the Film…

Last week was a blast!

It started off with a meeting with wonderful film maker and photographer Benjamin Borley who clued me up about a short film he wanted me to get involved in as an actress at the end of the week.

Tuesday was spent writing at home in my studio. Poptastic tunes were flowing and I think I may have something with one of them! I’ve also started writing without music, just straight from my head. It’s really quite liberating! So any producers out there with a flare for putting music to a melody and lyrics, don’t hesitate to get in contact.

Wednesday was London based as i had a session with pop songwriter and producer Jonny Amos . What a lovely chap!

Not forgetting Peri (producer) and Joel (sound engineer). The session took place at The Limehouse Studio, they’ve got some lovely gear! I did my best Jessie J / Keisha as required! Everyone seemed more than happy at the end of the session.

Friday was spent filming with Benjamin Borley and Dave Salas for the first of potentially ten short films. I was also lucky enough to have some more photographs taken by Ben whilst filming…more results up soon!

All together very productive and creative week! :)
